Global Disability Innovation Hub
Visual IdentityGlobal Disability Innovation Hub
Launched by the Mayor of London to co-inside with the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, the Global Disability Innovation Hub is a dedicated research, teaching and practice centre and online community.
Established with a bold vision, and delivered by seven key partners—all of whom share an expertise in disability—its mission is to help solve the problems faced by the estimated 1 billion disabled people around the world.
I was commissioned to create a brand identity for the hub, to help position it as a modern dynamic organisation, with an outlook of ‘anything is possible’
Whilst reflecting this positioning, the final identity has been developed with accessibility at its heart. As such the typeface and colour palette have characteristics that help to maximise contrast and legibility for the visually impaired, whilst an image treatment is used to help unify images from varying sources, combined with a graphic style that represents the vibrant, collaborative and forward thinking community.
“Adam was fantastic to work with, really responsive to the brief and feedback, and worked super hard to meet our ridiculous time frame.
Not only is the resulting work accessible to the whole diversity of our audience, it has also gone down very well with stakeholders and partners.”
